W. Dale Osborne, Associate Minister

W. Dale Osborne has been the associate minister at Binkley Baptist Church since September of 1992. He was drawn to service and ministry at Binkley because he knew God was present and active in the community and because the church was so well used by a variety of local non-profit support groups.

Born and raised in Richmond, Va., Dale graduated from Hermitage High School and attended Randolph-Macon College, where he developed and coached the school’s first women’s soccer team. Dale earned a B.A. from Randolph-Macon in 1982 in Classics (Greek emphasis) with a minor in Ancient History. Shortly thereafter, Dale entered Yale Divinity School, graduating in 1986. He then took a position as a psychiatric chaplain at Wake Forest University Medical Center. After leaving Wake Forest, Dale went to work in the Student Affairs Department at the North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem, where he stayed for five years before joining Binkley’s staff.

Dale and his wife, Suzy Osborne, were married in 1984. They are the grateful parents of Jacob, Hannah and Lydia. Jacob and Lydia attend UNC Chapel Hill while Hannah attends NC State University. Their favorite family activities include sitting around a backyard campfire and enjoying “The Simpsons” or “Jeopardy” together. Dale’s favorite athletic pastime is sand volleyball.
