Worship & Music

Worship with us!

Sundays:

8:45 am Early Worship, First and Third Sundays in the Chapel

11:00 am Worship in the Sanctuary

Worship is at the heart of our life as a congregation at Binkley Baptist Church. Since our founding in 1958, each Sunday faithful folk have gathered to sing, to pray, to share our joys and struggles alike.

Worship at Binkley includes people of all ages, and many backgrounds. We sing traditional hymns and new songs. From time to time, a member of the church will rise to speak and share a “Word for the World.”  We share sermons and meditations that wrestle honestly with scripture; express persistent joy; and offer encouragement in the face of a challenging world. We bring together our prayers of need, prayers for healing and prayers of thanksgiving for the grace of God and for the love we learn from Jesus the Christ.

Worship is at the heart of our life together!

Here contemplative spirituality meets faithful activism.

Here vibrant music meets silence, and the spoken word.

Here reverent quiet meets the occasional sounds of lively children and welcomes fervent “amen’s”.

Here the strong legacy of the past meets the honest doubts and affirmation of the present and the living hopes we bear for the future.

Come join us for worship!

On the first and third Sunday's of the month at 8:45 am we gather for an intimate time of singing, prayer and shared reflection on scripture in the Church Chapel.

At 11 am each Sunday we gather in the church’s sanctuary for worship that includes both contemporary and traditional elements—usually with a sermon and one or more of Binkley’s musical groups—whether the Chancel Choir, or the Children’s Choir, Bells or Youth or an “Old Time Gospel Band”.

And at 1:30 pm, our Chin Christian members and friends gather to sing, to pray and to praise God in the Chin language(s).

Whoever you are, whatever your legacy and struggles, come join us! Come as you are! No pretense needed. Lend us your gifts as we worship God together. Bring your honest questions; your deepest doubts; your strongest joy; your heartfelt needs; and your best intentions and willingness to listen to -and pray for-- others.

We look forward to being with you and welcoming you, at a gathering of the Body of Christ in this place.
