The Olin T. Binkley Memorial Baptist Church is searching for a Minister with strong gifts in preaching, worship leadership, pastoral care, team building and supervision. This Minister will replace our Senior Minister, who retired in June 2007 after eleven years of distinguished service. After several months of focusing on what we learned about ourselves after a year of discernment, the Transition Committee proposed some changes in our Minister job description that have been discussed by the congregation and approved by the Church Council. Once the Transition Committee completed its work, a Minister Search Committee was elected by the congregation in January. We invite you to read the Minister Job Description, and the documents noted below, to get a picture of who we are, how we are organized and how we have come to define ourselves in recent years.
Our congregation of 500 members will celebrate its fiftieth anniversary in September 2008, and takes pride in its history of service to the community, peace and justice work and advocacy on behalf of civil and human rights.
Binkley is affiliated with the American Baptist Churches USA, American Baptist Churches of the South, The Alliance of Baptists, the Association of Welcoming and Affirming Baptists, the Baptist Peace Fellowship of North America and the NC Council of Churches.

We invite you to read and/or download the following documents: the Constitution, the 2008 Budget Description, the Binkley Covenant, our History, an Organizational Chart and a very interesting Discernment Committee Report.
