Binkley Baptist Church is a community of faith on a journey that calls for questioning, humility, and conviction.
As followers of Jesus, we embrace spiritual growth, mutual care, and service, assured that as we serve our neighbors, we joyfully serve God. In a spirit of Christian love, we welcome you!
We are Baptists
Binkley Baptist Church is a congregation of active open-minded, progressive Christians.

We are part of a tradition of Baptists that honors the freedom of individual believers and local congregations. Binkley is committed to ecumenical relationships and interfaith conversations. We seek to honor the presence of God and follow the teachings of Jesus as an inclusive Christian Community of Faith. We respond to the needs of our community, locally and globally. We are a welcoming and affirming church.

We are Stewards of the Earth
The dramatic buildup of CO2 in the atmosphere, the root cause of global climate change, is scientifically irrefutable and is impacting all life on Earth in devastating ways.

In the face of these current realities, Binkley Church is called to action. In Genesis 2:15, God charged humankind with stewardship of planet Earth. We are called to "serve it, to honor it and protect it." Francis of Assisi, whose statue in our courtyard is a constant inspiration, invited all Christ-followers to honor Mother Earth "who sustains us and governs us and who produces varied fruits with colored flowers and herbs.”

Our Proclamation for Sustainability
We are Welcoming and Affirming
Being welcoming and affirming is at the center of all we do at Binkley.

This means that all are welcome here and treated equally regardless of sex, age, race, ethnicity, national origin, range of abilities, sexual orientation, gender identity, financial means, education, and political perspective. We affirm the personhood of every individual who walks through our doors, and celebrate diversity.

We Believe Bodily Autonomy is Sacred
Reproductive Freedom is a human right.

Our Bans Off Our Bodies Working Group was formed after the Dobbs decision in 2022. We are fierce advocates for the right to choose. Our Baptist beliefs value personal freedom and liberation over restrictive fundamentalist dogma. We are proud founding members of Interfaith Voices for Reproductive Freedom

We are an Apartheid-Free Comunity
We believe in equal rights for all!

In 2025 we became an Apartheid-Free congregation. Our Apartheid-Free working group leads Binkley and the wider community in education and action to end support for Israel's apartheid regime, settler colonialism, and military occupation.
